Jeddah Central Development Company signs agreement with Mandarin Oriental to develop a luxury hotel on a Red Sea island

Riyadh, November 13, 2025: Jeddah Central Development Company (JCDC), a Public Investment Fund (PIF)-owned company and the master developer of the Jeddah Central destination, announced the signing of an agreement with Mandarin Oriental to manage and operate a luxury hotel within the destination.

The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Sulaim, CEO of Jeddah Central Development, and Alex Schellenberger, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Mandarin Oriental, on the sidelines of the third day of the TOURISE Summit in Riyadh.

Under the agreement, Mandarin Oriental will manage a luxury hotel and serviced apartments located on an island within the destination, offering panoramic views of the Red Sea. The development will include 140 hotel rooms, 115 serviced apartments, and 187 branded residences, delivering a tourism experience that combines luxury, serenity, and distinction in an exceptional setting.

Eng. Ahmed Al Sulaim emphasized that “the partnership with Mandarin Oriental reflects investor confidence in the Saudi market and the strong appeal of Jeddah Central as an attractive investment destination.”

He added: “We are committed to building a fully integrated tourism ecosystem that provides exceptional experiences aligned with Jeddah’s unique character and supports Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing tourism and improving quality of life.”

Alex Schellenberger, Chief Brand and Marketing Officer of Mandarin Oriental stated: “This agreement with Jeddah Central Development is part of our strategy to pursue high-value investment opportunities.
